A good froiend of mine lives in the West End of Vancouver and he told me of a wonderful new tradition that has started amid the bad news of the Covid-19 pandemic. Every day at 7:00pm people go out on their balconies and ring bells or bang pots and pand together to make a noise. It is to pat tribute to the medical staff at the hospitals and to the First Responders in the neighbourhood as their shifts chnage at 7:00pm and they can here the support of the community. Apparently this tradition started in Italy. Maybe it is something we should think about for North Vancouver? As I said to my friend, "It really does lift your spirit and remind you that in our core people really are good and caring".
