Drawing on high – level training and extensive performance experience she gained in her native Russia, Galina brings a collaborative, eclectic approach to the role of Music Director, pianist and organist at St. John’s. This is evident in the many varied musical offerings – from Sunday Services to concerts and recitals – that the congregation and visitors appreciate throughout the seasons.
She loves working with other musicians, be they singers or instrumental soloists, and none more so than Christie Smith Choir Director whose musicianship and friendship Galina so appreciates. Musical Director since 2003, Galina also has a private piano studio where she nurtures future generations of talent. A member of the BC Registered Music Teachers Association, she has a Master’s degree of Music in Piano Performance and Teaching coupled with over 25 years of teaching and performance experience in Russia and Canada.
