Another Email Scam Alert

Another email scam has come to my attention.  This one is fairly sophisticated.  The email address itself is close to mine but not exactly.  The scammer also ends the email with, "Peace, Patrick" as I usually do.  They have even included a picture of me.

The content of the emails will either ask you to contact me, i.e. respond to the email, or it will ask you to buy something for me.  Please note that I would never ask a parishioner to buy something for me by email.  

Unfortunately there is really nothing that can be done to stop this.  What is required is for all parishioners and friends of St. John's who might receive an email from me to be very careful and pay close attention to the email address.  If that address is not exactly as mine is, it is not from me.
