In Memoriam

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our dear sister in Christ Gillian Lyles.  Gillian died yesterday at Lions Gate Hospital with her husband Ray, a close personal friend and Patrick by her side. 

Gillian was a long time member of St. John's as were her parents.  She had a strong faith and was dedicated to helping the community of St. John's and the broader community.  She was trained and worked as a Care Aid Support Worker in her professional life.  This dedication to care for others was very much a part of Gillian's ministry work at St. John's as well.  She was a Sunday School Teacher and was always very willing to help others.  For many years Gillian put on a Sunday service at Evergreen House and was always joyfully recruiting others to join her.  She was also famous for her wonderfully glorious hats.

Gillian will be greatly missed.  A memorial service at St. John's will be held on Saturday, November 12 at 1:00pm.
