We at St John's are very proud of our new inductees to the Order of the Diocese of New Westminster. The service of induction was held in early November at Christ Church Cathedral, but due to an illness not both of our recipients could be there. As a result Bishop Melissa, upon her visit to St John's this past Sunday, awarded the order to Allison Mulligan. Therefore our two inductees for this year are Allison Mulligan and Bob Hardy.
Both Allison and Bob have given years of their time, talent and plain hard work for the parish. Allison, among many other things, has overseen the envelope ministry and made sure everyone gets their tax receipts. She has given countless hours in volunteering for various church functions and yet was very humble in receiving this great award. She mentioned that she has had fun doing all this for St John's and would do it even without recognition.
Bob has been Treasurer of St Hohn's for some time now. He is also Treasurer of the Diocese of New West Minster. Bob also serves as a Trustee and is on Church Council. Bob is a very well respected member of our church leadership and he as well was very modest in receiving this wonderful recognition of his work. He dedicated it to his Mother who was a very long-time member of St John's and who was also a wonderful and productive leader of our parish.
All of us at St John's would like to stand up and cheer Bob and Allison for work very well done, and we hope and trust they will continue to provide leadership and inspiration for many years to come. Congratulations to you both!
